Da Vinci's Visit
Re-mastering the master is the main theme of this piece. The original painting which belongs to Leonardo Da Vinci, The Last Supper, has such a spectacular body language with its unique perspective that goes to the center where Christ is positioned. However, since I’m living in a cosmopolitan country, a whole different land of culture and tradition, replacing the figures into something else was really motivating. As far as any civilization existed, men have always been playing the vital role of success and accomplishments. Therefore, I strongly wanted to vision how women are not less important and each is completing the other. In other words, using such famous painting as a change of time period to reflect my idea was an absolute success. Emirati women have an amazing potential which has always been recognized, yet not been driven nor emphasized well according to their needs and ambitions. My piece simply reflects how “we” are really achieving outstanding accomplishments back to our country through our actions, which is showing in the body language.
