Diffusione di materia is a Galleria Giordani’s project curated by Fabio Weik and Martina Corbetta.
Giordani’s family, founder of Graziano Ricami - who has always been interested in experimentation and innovation in the fashion field - offers a new interest in Contemporary art and young emerging creativity in order to develop exclusive tecnique of embroidery and the influence about art and design.
The project consists in a visual itinerary narrating that tells the sinergy between a leading company in the high-fashion sector and International artists. Graziano Ricami’s results in creative processes gives rise to installations, paintings, sculptures and design objects exhibited in the Galleria Giordano space of Via Savona 43, Milano. The precious embroidery that contaminates every single art production, creates a tight dialogue between textile and Style. Design and matter are the effect. Diffusione di materia is a group exhibition that also provides collateral events. Artists and audience are involved in meetings and talks.
Giuliano Giuliani (Ascoli Piceno, 1954). Sculptor, his production stems from the exploration of nature to guarantee a soft and smooth rendering. The sculptures coexist harmoniously with Graziano’s marquetry. The smooth lines of Missoni’s texture merge with handmade works. Libreria, is a particular interesting work where the correlation with the travertine worked by the artist and the embroidered fabric calls to mind a naturalistic effect.
Anna Turina (Lecco, 1973). Polyhedric artist, specialized in iron manipulation. She exhibits a new installation inspired by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s short story La sirena, known as Lighea. The iron series of Code di balena is created with authentic industrial scrap. The result is the creation of light and drawn sculptures where the shape is represented by the relationship between solids and void.
Fabio Weik (Milano, 1984). Graffiti artist since 1997 and general artist. Weik’s research is focus on perception of the absent light, the synergetic relationship and the relaxing power of phosphene on the human being. During this occasion the artist presents the Phosphene series based on visual phenomena caracterized by perception of bright spots seen with your eyes closed. The art works interact with the textile substance of Graziano stimulating the visual systems through reflexes and sparkling colours.
