Maryam Golubeva is a UK based artist and designer working in the field of Islamic Arts, creating handmade bespoke artworks, patterns, object d'art and inspirational customized emblems. She works in a wide range of media, using tools from simple manicure scissors and paper to graphic design software. She is currently involved in “Apna” community project aimed to celebrate Islamic cultural heritage. Maryam created 9 ft. by 5 ft. single sheet paper cut installations for the exhibition space as well as delivering a series of workshops for the local community groups. Her art was recently show-cased at the MOCAfest at the World Islamic Economic Forum in Dubai and Malaysia. In 2015 and 2016 she was also shortlisted for Muslim News Alhambra Award for Excellence in Arts.
